History and stories about the old trading town of Wasserburg are entertainingly represented in the various town and theme tours, which make a Wasserburg visit a special experience. Single impressions weave themselves into a harmonic togetherness of past and present. The classical historical guided tour and the beer cellar tour are tours for groups, bookable for up to 25 persons. Single persons may join a group subject to availability. Classical guided tour

The guide points out the large and small, often hidden sights of interest. Duration, about 90 minutes. Children´s and foreign language tours on request.

Guided tour through the Wasserburger Beer Catacombs

This impressive beer cellar system, parts of which are over 200 years old, once served as storage for beer, the brewing of which, for hygienic reasons, was only allowed in winter. In the labyrinth of passages and chambers, dug deep in the escarpment,  various aspects of brewing and building can be seen. The museum in the cellars can be viewed as part of the guided tour.

Town Hall guided tour

The large and small auditoriums are famous for their detailed murals. The small auditorium with its perfectly preserved painting from 1564 is quite outstanding. Guided tours take place from

  • April - October: Mondays to Fridays at 13:00
  • April - December: Saturdays and Sundays at 13:00 and 14:00

(unless events are in progress). Additional tours on request. Booking is not necessary. Meeting point is in the foyer of the town hall.

Price: Adults € 2.50, children up to 16 years € 1.00, reduction for parties from 15 persons.
