The chapel is named after the elector Max Emanuel who, as
many of his predecessors, set out from the shore of the
river Inn to go to court meetings, weddings, war campaigns
and pleasure trips. The remembrance chapel, established in
1716, later destroyed by floods, was rebuilt by the
Maurerzunft (mason´s guild) which still maintains the
building.
