The Belacqua Theatre

Wasserburg has a small professional playhouse: The Belacqua Theatre. Its programme and repertoire presents not only plays from classical to comedy, but also contemporary dance and concerts. In the summer the Belacqua company performs on an open-air stage with great success, sometimes in the heart of the town and sometimes at the “Am Stoa” amphitheatre (approx. 5 km outside Wasserburg near Edling).

Theater Das Narrenschiff – The Crazy Ship Theatre

The attractive Narrenkeller on the Marienplatz, is the home harbour of the Crazy Ship Theatre. Here and at various other locations, cabaret, small stage, classical and Bavarian traditional plays are performed as well as “mimes and more”  with its comedy and open-air events in the Summer.

Inn-Salzach-Live 

The series of events, Inn-Salzach-Live, which is held in the festival hall of the Inn-Salzach hospital – a clinic for the mentally ill, just outside Wasserburg, gives performances of cabaret, comedy and music. Outstanding performers of both local and international standing, take turns and have long made the programme an integral part of the regional culture scene.
