History and stories about the old trading town of

A journey through time with expeditions through the alleyways of the legendary old town of Wasserburg, performing actors bring medieval times back to life. In between, a refreshment with the delicious Methewin, a mead wine made from honey.
This impressive beer cellar system, parts of which are over 200 years old, once served as storage for beer, the brewing of which, for hygienic reasons, was only allowed in winter. In the labyrinth of passages and chambers, dug deep in the escarpment, various aspects of brewing and building can be seen. The museum in the cellars can be viewed as part of the guided tour.
The large and small auditoriums are famous for their detailed murals. The small auditorium with its perfectly preserved painting from 1564 is quite outstanding. Guided tours take place from Tuesdays to Fridays at 10:00 11:00, 14:00, 15:00 and 16:00; Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, at 10:00 and 11:00 (unless events are in progress). Booking is not necessary. Meeting point is in the foyer of the town hall.
